Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling

I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.
And I honestly don't know when it will be finished - which oddly enough brings us to the good news:

Apparently a piece of art I did was reported to deviantart for needing a mature tag... Now yes it did need it, but I accidentally forgot to put the tag on since most my art is not mature..,that's it though, I just forgot, a simple mistake...why didn't the person just message me and TELL me that....not report me

Lame

But ah well just thought its ridiculous people are report happy over something so easily taken care of by saying "hey not sure if you missed it or not by mistake but you don't have a mature tag on that piece" lol

Yeah though you gotta agree that reporting it was a normal reaction for someone from dA. It's different than small 'homely' communities where administration gives out a warning or the users talk it out too. I'm p-sure they didn't consider it necessary to PM you.

I find it funny that anyone on this site bothers to report anything anymore......since when does dA actually act on any reports? Mods who actually give a rats ass are a rare and endangered species on this site. XP

Though I do admit, sometimes when I have to approach an artist about something, I cringe, because sometimes you never know who's going to completely freak out on you and over-react to the smallest thing. I've seen artists on this site go nuts over people leaving them "thanks for the watch/fave/whatever!" comments. Screaming at them and calling them idiots and all kinds of crazy shiz. o.o; I contacted an artist once to let them know someone was stealing their art and they got SO MAD. Their reply made me so uncomfortable (talking about how art thieves should all die violent deaths and such) that now I dread finding another artists stolen art, because I don't want to tell them. >_>;

I've watched you for awhile now, so I know you wouldn't act like that! <3 And it certainly would have been easier for them to just note you and politely point out that that particular deviation needed a mature tag. But at the same time, artists on this site can be uptight and over-sensitive (and scary as hell), and if the person didn't know you (like, if they weren't a watcher), they might have just thought they were avoiding drama/getting yelled at. It can be a slippery slope, because without watching someone for awhile, you never know how they react to things. X3;
